I think it means go back to your initial liquid phase and do that until the stall breaks.

Actually I've read that a stall is quite normal. It's simply your bodies way of adjusting to the changes happening to it. I am down 61 pounds and 3 months out. I've stalled 3 times so far. all which have lasted for about 2 weeks, I haven't changed anything but then again I have not needed to go "back to basics" because I've simply been doing the basics. That being said I believe "back to basics" means following precisely what your surgeon and nutritionist has asked you to. I think the most common "basics" are: approximately 64-84 oz. of water/day, 60-95 grams of protein/day, low carb, low - no sugar, taking all your required Vitamins and minerals and moderate daily exercise.

Those are what I've seen across the board so far in my 3 months but, again, it all depends on what your surgeon and nutritionist has come up with for you specifically.

For some, they go all the way back to liquids and purees..whatever works I suppose :)

I am going crazy with my stall ... it has been 3 months since the scale moved , I had heard of people complianing about this in the past and I always thought to myself , "Maybe they are cheating or over eating " well now it's me :( .

I don't know whats going on , I lost 50 lbs and i am happy with that but now i dont know what to do . I know that I am eating more but I also know that I am not over eating ..... I am not pushing myself more than I should .... but I am eating wheat bread , brown rice .... lots of Water mellon and southwest salads....I am doing great with my Vitamins ( got them all in gummies) I had never really excerised a whole lot maybe 2-3 days a week ,,,At work I move around alot ! I am an Infant & tot teacher ,so i am on the floor all day long , moving and stretching . I don't what to imagine that I went through all this so it stops now .... I was 237 , now 188 ... my goal is 140 ... and it seems that I will not reach my goal . I am still fat :(.

I too am having the same problem. I fluctuate btwn 202-203 and its been this way for like 2-3 months. I've upped my exercise and tracked but no movement on the scale or inches. Atleast I know I'm not alone. I have 40 lbs to go and three months until my 1 year anniversary. Ughh I'm trying!

No giving up.

First things first - if you aren't doing so already, start logging your food. That way you can look at your total calorie intake and also see your balance of Protein, carbs and fat to see if that is your issue. You may not be overeating in terms of absolute quantity, but the quality in terms of what we need to support weight loss may not be there.

What do your Southwest salads consist of? Depending on the ingredients, they can be fairly high in calories and carbs

For example, you say you eat lots of watermelon. While watermelon is nutritious in reasonable amounts, it's loaded with fruit sugars. You say you're eating brown rice and whole grain bread. Those are certainly better for us than white rice and white bread. However, moderation is the key. How much of these are you eating and how often?

What's your protein intake look like? Are you making sure to take care of your protein requirements first?

If you have access to a dietician who is knowledgeable about the dietary needs of bariatric patients, I would definitely make an appointment to see him or her to have your diet assessed.

Good luck!

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
