I don't know much about pregnancy with the sleeve, but my cousin had her first a 39! You're still young enough to give it a year or two. My BFF will be two years out in October and is due to have a beautiful baby boy August 2nd! She'll be 30 in November. She's doing great! Good luck to you!

Thanks everyone! I know ppl are having babies later in life but I want to still be active and healthy and live long years with my children as they become adults and have their own babies. Hence the sleeve surgery I will be having in August.

I understand. I had my first baby at 33, he's 15 months old. I was sleeved on 6/25. I chose not to go through insurance because they required a 6 month wait, which I learned often turned into 8-9 months. My husband and I would like to have 2 more biological children, so waiting an additional 6-9 months at my age seemed like a big deal. It also would lead to a bigger age difference between our children than we would like. I plan to start TTC no sooner than 1 year post op.

With my son, DH and I didn't prevent pregnancy for about 9 months, and then the first month we proactively tried to get pregnant (DTD every other day) we shockingly got pregnant. (I always had irregular periods and have several PCOS symptoms, and my mother had lots of miscarriages, so I assumed I'd have trouble) I'm hoping it will be as easy the next time.

Realistically, age 35 is when your risks for something going wrong with the pregnancy and/or the baby skyrocket. However, most women age 35+ end up with healthy babies.

I had surgery at 33 and got pregnant at 11months post-op (purely by accident they aren't kidding when they say it boosts fertility). I miscarried at 12 weeks but we don't believe this is related to WLS. I then decided I wanted another baby and was pregnant within the month

I gave birth to a beautiful baby girl at age 35 in May of this year she is now 2 months old.

Not sure if it has been mentioned but my sleeve relaxed during pregnancy and I could suddenly eat more. The hormones of breast feeding seem to have kept it slightly relaxed ( more restriction than pregnancy). I am not worried because after the MC my sleeve went right back into shape. Best of Luck to those trying to change to bring their babies into this world!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
