I had surgery June 11th. Lost 10lbs pre op and 11 lbs since surgery. For a week i weigh within a pound everyday and don't drop. I go up a couple ounces and down a ounces or two! I am still barely getting 400-500 calories a day and around 50 grams Protein. I walk every other day. I know i need to just chill but i want and need to see it on the scale!

Had surgery June 7th and have been stalled for 2 weeks. TWO WEEKS. ::sigh::

I still get on the scale every morning. But, I guess an addiction to the scale is better than an addiction to food!

Just wish my addiction would bring some happiness, even though my brain is fine with what's going on!

All I can say is, get used to it. It's rare that people lose week after week. I am a stair-stepper at 6.5 months out. I tend to go up & down 1-2 lbs for a week or two, then drop like 4 lbs in a week. In my experience, it's SO much better to weigh in once a week or less. Weight fluctuates so much, even in the course of a day. Put the scale away so it's not so easily accessible. Mine lives in a closet- if it gets left out, I MUST step on it, which leads to feelings of frustration. I will start weighing every day once I get to goal, which is just 28 lbs away....:)))))

I was sleeved on the same day, and I had this issue during week 2. My dr recommended 3 meals a day, but I chose to add a snack and upped my Water intake. That seemed to help bc I dropped a few more lbs. I also exercise everyday. And maybe increasing your protein to 60g would be good for you too.

And during that time, I literally had to put a sign on the door to the room my scale is in saying "leave the scale alone!" Lol

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.
