kim0079 10 Posted July 3, 2013 Anyone else having or had trouble with drinking Water at 5 weeks post op? I've been super lucky with what I can eat. I can eat most things now just not much of it and chew it up real good. Even had some diet soft drink and cordial. But water always makes me nautous. I just had a couple of mouthfuls 20 min apart to have medicine, this made me dry reach and run for the bucket. I've never been sick, this is the closest I've come and I don't like it :-(

Ms.Cali 56 Posted July 5, 2013 If this is happening suddenly at 5 weeks you want to discuss with your surgeon to make sure you are okay. Try different Water temperatures, ice cold worked best for me. Others preferred warm Water or room temperature. When it comes to flavor, you can try slicing fresh fruit and adding a little to the water (change the water every few hours). My dr also let me drink Gatorade early on - but check with yours - not all allow it that early. Hope you feel better!!
