I was sleeved May 20th about 6 weeks out and I'm having trouble coming up with things to eat. What does your daily food intake look like? Breakfast, lunch, dinner, Snacks? How much Water should I be drinking a day? Caloric intake? I've tried calling and reaching my nutritionist and can't get a hold of her. Help!

I was sleeved May 6, and I have somewhat of a "routine" as far as eating...per my NUT, I am supposed to be getting in 60-80 g of Protein per day, but if I am lucky I hit 60...fluids I am supposed to be getting 64 oz daily, I rarely get in more than half of that though (that is my most difficult goal each day)...my NUT tells me not to worry about calories because if I am following the dietary plan--and given the capacity of my stomach--I shouldn't exceed 800 calories per day...she is right because most days I am between 600 and 700 calories

for breakfast, it's either a scrambled egg, boiled egg, some cheese squares, yogurt or an occasional Protein shake

for lunch (during the work week), I either eat leftovers from previous dinner or have deli meat and cheese roll-ups, Soup or chili, maybe some Peanut Butter or yogurt

for dinner, I have some sort of lean Protein (turkey or chicken usually with some cheese sometimes and some type of veggie or Beans, such as green Beans, carrots, steamed broccoli or cauliflower

when I can tolerate them I occasionally have a Protein Shake as a snack or supplement (my NUT wants me to do this more often)

Snacks consist of mainly sugar-free Jello or popsicles, a tablespoon of Peanut Butter, some cheese squares, unsweetened fruit such as diced peaches

it is somewhat boring at this stage but that is OK because I am trying not to focus on food as a pleasure source...also my NUT (not all are like this) tells me that for at least 6 months, I can have no starches at all--no bread, Pasta, rice, potatoes, corn, oatmeal, Cereal, crackers...and of course no sweets at all

Lunch: broc cheese Soup with added unflavored protein or WW chicken ranchero wrap (sooooi good!!!)- 12g protein, 100 calories

Snack: Protein Shake or Protein Bar - 30g protein, 200 calories

I was sleeved on May 28th and officially on a normal diet. I haven't met with my nutritionist yet to know calories but I'm guessing it'll be get your Protein and Water in.

I've started to become pretty creative and I'm not too worried about carbs but I also only get 20-40 in a day so I think in all that isn't to bad.

Last night I made a Cajun black bean quesadilla on a small corn tortilla. I also make a egg, ham and tiny bit of cheese scramble. chicken salad and through an egg in for extra Protein. A lot of deli meat and cheese. I also made a pizza using the flat bread sliders with reduced sugar ketchup, cheese, and turkey pepperoni.

Check out Pinterest for VSG, Bariatric or even RNY recipes. I always look for the boards and come up with a lot of ideas.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
