FINALLY! Somebody noticed

Recommended Posts

I have lost 49 pounds and only two people (one of them today!) who didn't know about my surgery have noticed. REALLY PEOPLE!?!?!

Congrats on the 49lbs! That is awesome!!!!

I found that it takes a while for the weight you lose to start showing up. It seems like a two week delay. I'm at 35 pound loss and people are just starting to comment. I also feel like its melting off from the head down. My face is thing but my butt is still bootylicious. Not in a great way. I have lost this much weight before but my body is responding totally different this time.

Isn't crazy I've been this weight before and people are like your half your size... Its only been 25lbs... :-\

I'm 3 weeks out..have lost so far 11 lbs..I noticed in my arms and face a lil..I know I'm not yet losing as fast as I want.. but God willing im heading towards my goal weight..180.. I'm happy everyone here decided to go along with surgery. .I don't feel so left out... what I think I will miss out on is my get togethers..margaritas! !.. does anyone drink alcohol after surgery? ?

If so how much can you drink? Does it burn?

Oh crap I didn't think about drugs...and being a person of color in a predominantly white workplace...scratch that I'm the only black person there so that automatically means that I've started taking the drugs I supposedly sell. God I hope no one notices. I can see a "random" drug test in my future!

LMAO!! OMG, do you plan to tell anyone then??? Lol

Someone said that to me at work a couple of nights ago. I have quite a way to go before I am half the size I was. People just don't know what to say.

Tomorrow I will be 3 weeks out and I am down 24lbs. No one has noticed yet. I tend to think the bigger the more weight loss is needed for people to really notice. I have lost 6" off my waist and I am really happy the weight is coming off. People will notice sometime. In the meanwhile I will just enjoy smiling on the scale instead of frowning.

I don't think it's that they don't notice. Some people are so jealous and grudge hearted they won't tell you. Just keep up the good work believe me people see it

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
