2 weeks post op and scale hasnt moved in a week. How do I get it to move? I went from 232 to 221....this week nothing! I'm pretty active and am wearing smaller clothes, but how to drop the lbs on the scale??? I know I'm new to this and I'm sure this isn't the first post like this....but please, if you have an idea...I'll take it! (I'm on day 5 of my cycle if that matters)

My Protein goal is 90-but I'm doing good to get 1/2 of that. I'm drinking Water but what's enough?

HW 254

SW 232

Today 221

5'10"

Goal...170-160

The toughest part of the program for me, is the waiting for the scale to move. I'm 6 months out and seen 4 or 5 two week plateaus. Just finished a 3 week plateau this morning (today, I'm 5 lbs lighter - overnight - go figure!????????)

Try to be patient as your body adjusts to the weight loss and reduced calorie diet. It's not a steady process. But you will get there in the end.

Your body isn't used to it yet & it thinks it is starving. It will adjust-you have to be patient & give it time. If you are doing everything you are supposed to be doing-it WILL come off.

Patience...your doing everything right. I stalled at three weeks for like 2 weeks. I have seen it on here a million times the exact same post. Now you look at their stats 2,3,4 5 months down the road and they have lost 40,50 plus pounds. Some even more. The anticipation of the surgery, the eating next to nothing for so long, in our minds the expectation is that we have the surgery and then BAM we should loose 30 pounds the first 2 weeks..lol Well I did loose 20 in the first month. But its really a numbers game that is slow and steady. The one day you look back and whew 50 pounds is gone :)

Thanks!

I don't have anyone here that's had WLS and been successful with it! That's why I come here and not to the local ladies who aren't using the tools they have.

Your body does kind of go into starvation mode. This can also happen when you start to add excersise. If you don't take in enough to fuel your body without exercise when you add that you body starts to store fat instead of burn it. At the stage you are in its hard to get in enough so the best thing to do is give it time.

It's normal :D It will move again because it has to move again. It's just not possible for it not to move! Hang in there!

We are just about in the same boat. Our stats are very similar and I am having same issue. I'm almost two weeks out and have been loosing at least 2 lbs a day since surgery. Then today I get on scale and have gained 2.5 lbs. Woah! I guess that's why they said not to weigh everyday. ????

I have a good friend that had the surgery last July. I remember her having several plateau's. one that lasted a whole month. However, just 6 months out she was 10 lbs from her goal weight which is awesome!

I am 5 weeks out and it stopped for me at 3 weeks. As all the others have said above, it is normal. You are in this for the LONG HAUL, so hang in there.

DEFINATELY DON'T WEIGH EVERY DAY. My surgeons office said ONCE a week. We fluctuate so much, you will frustrate yourself if you do more than that.

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
