Does any1 feel like ...

Hi, I've not been sleeved yet, still hoop jumpn. Ive been reading so many threads and forums just to make sure that my decision is not a bad one. Let me see how to put this. Do any of u post ops feel like you're still dieting? Except this time since the surgery is irreversible, you have no choice but to maintain it? For example, I've read for the mist part that its really a lifestyle change agaii bad eating habits, learning to make better choices, nd I totally agree nd accept that, but there are people who are complaining of stalls and not losing weight anymore that they've started doing a 5:2 diet, I think that's the name of it. Since I'm not familiar w it, I won't say much against it bc I don't know y postops use it, other than from what ive read. I don't want to have Such a major surgery and still have to do a fad diet. I want the tool to help me however its suppose to and I'm rdy to do the work, but the thot of dieting the way we all use too scares me. Can anyone explain or comment concerning my thots nd that 5:2 diet? Thx and my h continued success to us all:)) Dee Dee

Well, I don't know what you call it, but I figure that I am going through a LOT of behavioral changes. With the help of my NUT and others I am AND will be making dramatic changes in the way I eat and drink... for life. I guess you could call it a diet. I think I'll call it paying attention to what I put in my pie hole!

I don't call it a diet, it's now just how I eat to stay healthy - the new "normal". Never want to use the word "diet" again.... :-)

Good luck when u get sleeved, I have no regrets, it has changed my life!

I don't feel like it's a diet because the word "diet' implies something you do until you reach a desired result and then you stop doing it. I'm never getting back the 85% of my stomach that was removed but what it buys me is the life i haven't been able to live for over 10 years. For me, it's a small price.

For me the biggest change has been hunger. Not everyone reacts the same, but I've not been hungry since my surgery. I almost have to schedule on my daily calendar to eat, sometimes I just plain forget to eat. That and the quantity of food, your new body will not allow you to overeat, it teaches you real quick like that that is not a good idea. I've yet to go into a stall, but then again as I've said before, I have way too much to loose. My fears kept me away from surgery too long, and now I get to pay the piper... This was the best decision I've made in too many years to count.

I just posted on another thread pretty much the answer to this question. I don't feel like I am on a diet at all. I feel completely normal....except for a lot more restriction on the amount I can eat. I always make sure to eat the right foods first, however if there is something that I want then I have it. I don't ever tell myself I can't have this or I can't have that, if I do then I end up having it....and way more then I should...so lesson learned. I am so happy to have this tool to help me stay on track! :) good luck to you on your decision!

Thank you all sooo much from the bottom of my heart!! I too dont think of the sleeve as a diet either:). But again ive read about so many postops doing that 5:2 diet plan nd it made me rethink my decision bc I refuse to diet again after I'm sleeved. So tyall again for putting my mind at ease about my decision. And I look forward to being on the losers bench w u all!!

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
