Sydney Lynn Pinckley 20 Posted July 2, 2013 How soon did you fly after your surgery? Were you comfortable? How long of a flight was it? Complications of flyng after?
PdxMan 4,292 Posted July 2, 2013 Surgery was on Friday in Vegas (Baby!) and I flew home Monday to Portland, OR, around 2 hour flight. I was given the TED socks during the surgery and it was suggested I wear them on the flight and get up and walk around every 20 minutes, if possible, to avoid blood clots. No problems or complications. 2 kelley5989 and Ms skinniness reacted to this
gaijingal 62 Posted July 2, 2013 I flew 3 days after. My only complication was that I had shifted any of the "air" in my belly yet. Like, none of it. Worst gas pains ever, it felt like someone was stabbing me, because the gas expands as the airplane climbs. Thankfully I knew what it was, and was expecting (dreading) it. Otherwise I would have been in hysterics, thinking something was wrong. 1 Ms skinniness reacted to this
Sydney Lynn Pinckley 20 Posted July 2, 2013 Oh wow. I'm getting mine locally but was going to fly out to fl like after 2-3wks after my surgery in oct to visit family. But wasn't sure on if anyone had stomach troubles then. Oh and my surgeon already told me that since I had complications with my emergency gallbladder surgery last year that I would at least be staying 2 nights at the hospital. :/ is that normal to be told, that already? caitiebug 26 Posted July 3, 2013 I haven't flown in a few years but I'm taking a trip next week. Last time I flew I needed an extender but that was 50lbs ago. Should I ask for one now or see if my slightly smaller frame can buckle the seatbelt without it?
