Wouldn't a group be better (private)? Maybe call it August Mexico Sleevers?

Yep, I think this is the way to go. :)

I'm getting done on 8/8 with Dr. Carlos Diaz (single incision) at Mi Doctor. I'm alternating between being excited and being nervous as all get-out!

New discoveries this week since I have been doing the 2 week liquid diet.

1) I don't like GNC's vanilla whey Protein - too much of a weird whey/protein taste/after taste/smell

2) powders?utm_source=BariatricPal&utm_medium=Affiliate&utm_campaign=CommentLink" target="_ad" data-id="1" >unjury chocolate Power is better but still not my favorite

3) The Nutribullet does wonders to mix the Protein better (with ice) better than a shaker bottle

4) The Unjury chicken Soup is barely passable by itself (I never like Chick broth anyway) but I am looking forward to mixing with instant potatoes and fat free refried Beans

5) Cytosport Monster Milk (Chocolate) IS MY MOST FAVORITE WAY TO GET IN PROTEIN (warning: it's wicked expense, most because I buy it premixed in the bottles, which I think also helps dull any protein taste.)

6) I have a new respect for Jello and greek yogurt.

Any one getting sleeved by Dr. Aceves on or around aug 19?

I am on August 17th with Dr. Aceves. So I'll still be in my room when you get there for your surgery. My name is Alicia if you want to stop by. :-)

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
