Sleeved Aug 7. Thought the sleeve was the answer to hunger because the hormone is removed. I have never been so hungry - literally - I am so disappointed because while I can't eat lots anymore (thankfully), I'm actually more hungry than before. Is this just me or is anyone else experiencing the same?

I have absolutely no appetite what so ever. The last thing I ate was 2 spoons of chicken broth, 1/2 Popsicle and a sip of Water @ 7pm last night. I'm still stuffed! Does anyone else feel full all the time?

Everyone is different. I go through times when I am really hungry and times when I am stuffed. Are you drinking plenty of fluids? Sometimes I feel hungry, but, what I needed was Water. My body gets its signals mixed. If you haven't eaten in a while it might be true hunger. Try drinking water, wait 10-20 minutes, If you are still hungry eat a small amount. Also, be aware of head hunger. Thats the hard one for me.

I was sleeved on 8/6/13

Are u taking an acid reducer? My hunger got better after I went on one (sleeved on Aug 6). I still get hungry but it is an appropriate amount (when I haven't eaten for 3/4 hours).

Anyone getting sleeved in Mexico on or about Sept. 3rd? I'll be getting sleeved by Dr. Kelly and at hotel Lucerna through the 6th.

Still struggling with this but only sleeved on Aug. 21. I know the feeling. I'm hoping that once I get to eat more solid food, it will help with the hunger.

Yes, the Dr said to take the acid reducer for 2 months - plus I've always been on them, however, I am not getting in all my fluids so that could be a big part of it. Thanks for the advice :-)

Congrats - excellent results! Ditto on the reflux and WOW, wish I'd done this a while ago but better late than never! Good luck on the rest of your WL journey :-)

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
