Anybody have experience with this PB2 stuff? I'm dying to eat PB but way too many calories for too small amount. I know I will overeat if I start and want to try this. Honest reviews please of this product. I know there are low fat PB and its Protein etc. I'm 3 years out, doing 5:2 to get back down to goal so my calories are important! :).

I got some chocolate PB2 to try out as part of my pre-op dietary explorations. I LOVE this stuff. A teaspoon or so in a Protein Shake is delicious. You can also mix it with a bit of Water to reconstitute it back to spreadable texture--and it has much less fat than regular Peanut Butter.< /p>

I really like it. I have used the regular flavor and chocolate flavor. I keep it in my freezer. I use it in my Protein Drinks and I also have added Water and eaten it with apples.

I have a 'jar' of it now, I had heard about it for ages, but thought it would be something I would not like, so I avoided it. I like Peanut Butter, I put it on a graham cracker. It is my 'snack of choice' but like you, the calories are just too much. I actually measure it out so I wouldn't put more than .5 a TB on a cracker! Anyway, I got some, and I really like it on my crackers, it is NOT peanut butter, but it's close. I don't think I'd like it for a sandwich, but I don't eat sandwiches, so it's a non issue!!! I do recommend it. I also add just a tiny bit more Water than it calls for so it will be a little creamier!

I like it. If you stay away from regular Peanut Butter, this stuff will taste quite good. But side by side, it doesn't quite match up. But to me the calorie difference makes it worth eating. Plus, since you have to measure it out and pre mix it, you can't sit there and over eat it like you can with regular PB. I like that about it. Definitely experiment with the mixture of Water and powder because it makes a huge difference. A few drops too much water can make it too creamy. Too little water makes it grainy. A few drops can make or break it. But once you get your ratios figured out its consistent after that.

Girl, when I saw your 4 # in your weight I got really jealous! Lol. My lowest was 150 (maybe 149) but not now. BUT I'm well on my way back. 10 lbs would put me back at goal but gonna try to push back and not get satisfied and let up till 145 or So. We will see.

I can find PB2 at Whole Foods or Fred Meyer (also QFC - same chain). Try the health food / gluten free aisle.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
