sis4slimin 13 Posted August 18, 2013 Almost a week out from surgery and I'm feeling like a human again. I spent one night in the hospital but I could have stayed 2. Wednesday I was overing doing it, cooking dinner, giving my kids baths, folding laundry thinking Im sitting while doing most thing so its ok. Thursday was the same. Friday I woke up having the worst pain and thought my incisions ripped open. I actually went to the ER. Nothing was wrong but I was told to take my pain meds and take it easy. I'm really following those orders now and feel incredibly better. Drinking Water and getting in my Protein are the only things I'm worrying about. I'm down 17lbs and feeling so blessed. 1 SmilinNC reacted to this
darleenmr 20 Posted August 19, 2013 This is a picture of my bigger incisions im not sure if they are supposed to look this way of if there is something wrong? Like a beginning infection?
italian-girl 152 Posted August 19, 2013 This is a picture of my bigger incisions im not sure if they are supposed to look this way of if there is something wrong? Like a beginning infection? You look really bruised... Are they warm to the touch or oozing? My surgeon told me if they are warm to the touch and oozing to call right away.. I don't have staples tho mine are different. Robert Angel 43 Posted August 19, 2013 I am one week out tomorrow and I feel so good. I have lost 16lbs since last Monday evening. I don't take my pain meds anymore as of Thursday. I also feel the itchy starting on my incisions but I've heard it's a normal sign of healing. I can't wait till I can start introducing new foods because I get bored easily. Any stage 1 liquid diet ideas? 2 miss_cee85 and Dee White reacted to this

I also feel the itchy starting on my incisions but I've heard it's a normal sign of healing. I can't wait till I can start introducing new foods because I get bored easily. Any stage 1 liquid diet ideas? Hi Rob, I'm 8 days out today and have lost 14lbs. Strangely I have felt no itching but I have district nurses coming out to change my dressing and they say its healing well. I had the single incision and have what looks like a frowning navel now. Lol! I have been having problems keeping my complan shakes down so contacted my surgeon's senior nurse practitioner who said as long as it can be sucked up through a straw I can have it. ( not allowed to actually use a straw though). So, today my mum kindly made me chicken and vegetable Soup which we blended to within an inch of its life, added Water to thin the mixture out and hey presto, a gorgeous Protein enriched soup. She also said if you add a scoop of milk powder to whatever you're having it will give you the protein you need! Gonna have beef n vegetable soup tomorrow! 1 Mocha2871 reacted to this
