I'm getting along much better these days with both my mirror and camera! We've had a more off than on relationship, which is steadily improving. Oh, and I haven't made the scale cry, groan or whimper in months!! Lol!

For me the most wonderful thing is that I now have a sense of being in control!

1. Improved mobility - which was my # 1 goal with wls 2. I am off blood pressure med, Water pills, and anti-depressants now

Good for you!!! I couldn't agree with you more about #1 reason being mobility. We get one chance at this thing called life. I want to be able to take it by storm, hiking, running and smiling the whole way through! (Just need my knees to cooperate...lol)

Congratulations again!!!!

I am already off my metformin for diabetes and my last blood work was really good. So excited to be off the meds and no longer progressing towards needing insulin shots! :)

I am only 6 days post op, I went into the hospital on four blood pressure meds, I'm now down to only taking one and my bp is still a little on the low side. My husband reported to me this morning that I didn't snore last night, now that is exciting! I can't wait to see the continuous benefits!

Ditto to all above... one thing I wasn't expecting is that my 11 year old son gets so excited to go on walks with me. If I'm not up to it he gets all sad and mopey and that gets my but walking really fast. Im looking forward to continuing a healthy life with my children. It's all I've ever wanted :)

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
