Recommended Posts

My date is July 18th and I am so excited! I believe the devil is in planning' date=' so I am putting together an after surgery survival box

Good luck to all![/quote']

Gl to u 2! ITS a great idea for you box, and here's somthn to add, tell satan to get thee behind you in the name of God and he will flee! That's Gods promise to us, so don't let the devil find a place to rest in your journey. Words are powerful!! I'm sure theyll be challenges but ik ull b up for the task bc the biggest challenge I think, that we all have faced up too, is finally admitting we needed help and are now getting it! God bless your journey nd others:). Luk how things go, Dee Dee.

You were right! I had to call them myself' date=' but I am booked for 1030am tomorrow morning! Eeek!

Made it through the day on Clear Liquids while everyone else enjoyed barbecue, booze and dessert. It wasn't as bad as I thought it would be, still had fun, even without food![/quote']

Sweet! All the best today with surgery.

I'm scheduled for July 16. I have my pre-surgery appointment on July 11 with my surgeon. I'm a little worried that he may postphone the surgery because I haven't lost any weight the preceding three months. I started at 248 and they said I had to lose 12.5 pds, which I did not do. My surgeron only requires a four day clear liquid diet prior to surgery, so i should drop a couple of pds. then. Please all July sleevers keep your fingers crossed that my surgeon goes through with my July 16 date......

You have some time. Try Slimfast for the time being. I start my liquid diet tomorrow. If all goes well I can have 5 shakes a day to meet my 1000 calorie diet for 13 days. The last day is clear liquids.

Try it until you meet with the doctor. It may work for 3 days.

Hi Patti K, I'm in Cincinnati. My surgery will be with Dr Brad Watkins at West Chester medical Center. Good luck to you. How many days is your pre-op diet? Mine is 14 days. Nervous, but excited.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
