danj67 1 Posted June 30, 2013 I'm day ten post op, won't start pureed foods for another four days. Can someone explain the full feeling? I get all my liquids in no problem and I don't feel full from it, will it be different once I go on pureed foods?

MIJourney 490 Posted June 30, 2013 You will feel more restriction/fullness as you go through the different stages of food.< /p> My dr said Clear Liquids prettys much go through so no real full feeling but as you add Protein in solid form even yogurt and refried Beans you will feel it more. Even more so with dense protein. I've added fish and chicken now and notice a difference. Have not added beef or pork yet due to nut list. 2 ProudGrammy and Ms skinniness reacted to this
JoiaRox 430 Posted June 30, 2013 Agree with the above poster! It wasn't until I could start "eating" something with more thickness that I learned what full was. Granted, I'm still healing (23 days post-op now), but I'm amazed at how little I eat...and how long it takes me to eat it! 1 Ms skinniness reacted to this
Escape_Pod 358 Posted June 30, 2013 I agree, you'll have a hard time finding a sense of full. Part of it is definitely the food stage, the liquids don't stay in your stomach long, though you may feel a difference based on the thickness of the liquid (broth or Water vs. Protein shake). The other thing to remember is that your surgeon just lopped off most of your stomach, and it takes several weeks for those nerve endings to begin to heal. So, it's extra important to measure at this stage so you don't overdo it. Go slow, and drink small amounts. 3 Vixynne, Ms skinniness and ProudGrammy reacted to this

HatheryOnHerWay 603 Posted June 30, 2013 At first when I got "full" it was painful and I'd sometimes throw up, so it was important to stop before I got there. Now my full is more like a normal full feeling, but slightly less comfortable. I try to stop when I'm satisfied and not get all the way to full.
