The CPap won't mess with the surgery at all. You'll just need to bring it with you. Since the surgery I have stopped snoring and don't use my machine anymore. You'll be fine. I found out the same way you did.

I also did my sleep study last week when the tech arrived with CPAP during the night I thought I was going to go into a panic attack. Just what I need more comorbities... I don't know how I can make myself sleep with that horrid thing between now and surgery

Go through the motions of getting the machine and bring it to the hospital. I also had mild sleep apnea and wearing the machine on the hospital overnight was peace of mind. Sleep apnea is worse after anesthesia and narcotic pain killers. I have not used it since being home.

I had the test. I was told I had moderate sleep apnea. That I stop breathing an average of 9 X per hour and that my O2 levels go down to 70 each time. Then I never heard another word, no CPAP no nothing. That was a waste of 225.00 out of pocket.

I couldn't have my surgery until I did my 30 day compliance. I had to use the CPAP machine for 30 days straight and then the report was sent to the doctor before my appointment. If I didn't do this then my surgery would be cancels and also insurance would not pay for the machine.

Check with your insurance and with your surgeon's policy.

Hopefully that was just your insurance. Mine didn't require that.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.
