Nursebarbie 392 Posted June 29, 2013 I am day 1 post op, now resting at home from band removal and conversion to gastric sleeve. My surgeon said my surgery took over 4 hours because 1)my pancreatic artery was trapped inside the band, 2)lots of scar tissue posterior side of band, 3). Not only was my port sewn in side ways (hence the electrical shocks I had been getting) but was leaking Fluid. And the kicker is it was a port from the Realize band attached hodgepodged to an allergan lapband which are not interchangeable! No wonder I have had so many problems with the lapband. Good riddance lap band and hello sleeve! 2 Lisha73 and TracyAnn15 reacted to this

marfar7 1,533 Posted June 29, 2013 Wow. I'm scheduled for July 16th for my revision and I'm so worried that I'll wake up in recovery and be told that my stomach was too damaged to do the sleeve at the same time. If yours was that damaged and your doc was able to revise you, my should certainly be able to do it. Glad to hear your home and recovering nicely. Keep getting better! May142013 74 Posted June 29, 2013 I had so much damage from my band that I had to let my stomach heal before they could do my sleeve. I'm now 6 weeks out and LOVE my sleeve. My life is so much better!!!
Nursebarbie 392 Posted June 29, 2013 I have a wonderful new surgeon at Kaiser. A million times different from start to finish. O band group felt like a cattle call to me rushing us in and out of surgery only to desert me post op. Thank God I have Kaiser - I think it gave me my life back. 2 Kami63 and NoneYa reacted to this
