Day 12 of the pre-op diet and I fail. I caved and had a meal that was definitely not on the plan. Did I just reversed all of my hard work and I did over the last 11 days? Does this mean I should postpone my surgery? I feel so down about this.

The pre op is the hardest. Just get back on track and you will be fine.

Get back on plan immediately. If course one meal has not undone all those 11 days have done. You are so close to having an amazing aid in weight loss. I screwed up constantly up until surgery...now I am the poster child for the sleeve. Stop now and get back on course:)

Try, try, try again. We all have fallen off the wagon but I like the ride so I get back on. Hang in there.

Keep moving forward!

i agree with what everyone else said. I even knew of folks who were allowed one weight watchers meal every day before surgery, so one slip up couldn't mess everything up. Good luck to you, you got this. I will add though, I was told after about day 3 or 4 that the liquid phase was relatively easy to do and most were used to it.

Well I wish that the diet would've been easy for me. I had struggles through out. At one point I had to call the nutritionist because I was so weak and struggle with diarrhea. I have lactose tolerance problems as well as irritable bowel syndrome so this Diet put my stomach digestion in overdrive. I guess you went through the pre-op diet without any problem? If that was the case great for you.

I plan to treat today like a brand-new day. I just hate that I wasn't successful and I guess a little disappointed. I appreciate the encouraging words. I am going to try try again.

Good to know that others may have messed up to and have found success on the other side of surgery. something I needed to hear. Thanks.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
