skane10 64 Posted June 29, 2013 It's a catch 22. I remember feeling so weak, dehydrated and terrible. I had no appetite so I wasn't taking in enough calories and also felt nauseous. I remember contacting my coordinator and she told me I needed the fluids n calories. I sipped the Protein chicken broth and Protein Shakes and felt better within days. I'm a year out now and never regret it. I remember the first two months though were a little difficult.
Nelly1828 17 Posted June 29, 2013 My doctor travels everywhere so he's not at the same place anymore. And I didn't regret the sleeve my first week but now I am. I'm starting to wish I never done it
skrubabilen 41 Posted June 29, 2013 You sound dehydrated! You need a anti-nausea med to help with the throwing up. At the every least sip some Gatorade G2 to help your electrolytes. You sound like you need to go back to the hospital for dehydration. That is a somewhat common occurrence after surgery in the first few weeks. Please be careful!! 1 Beach Lover reacted to this
Nelly1828 17 Posted June 29, 2013 I have one more day until I get home. When I do what's the process like incase I have to go to the hospital ? For dehydration
Sherri297 81 Posted June 29, 2013 I think skrubabilen is right on. It sounds like a trip to the ER would be a good idea. Once you get dehydrated its really hard to keep anything down. I don't think your going to die, but it sounds like some medical intervention may be necessary. Good luck. 1 Cheer Mama reacted to this
skane10 64 Posted June 29, 2013 Sherri is so right. Once you get dehydrated you asrebehind the 8 ball because you get sicker, don't feel hungry or thirsty. You should go to n ER wheretbry can give you IV fluids. Yu will be amazed at how much better you will feel Sent from my BNTV600 using VST

Nelly1828 17 Posted June 29, 2013 I know I'm being really stubborn but I don't want to go to the hospital here I feel I will miss my flight for Saturday and I jus can't do it here anymore for the environment in which is not supportin me ;( if I know it won't take that long I will go. Other then that I'd have to wait to hop off my plane in dallas
skrubabilen 41 Posted June 29, 2013 It's hard to say how long it will take. You are taking some chances. If anything, just keep sipping Gatorade. And head to the hospital as soon as you land. But I wouldn't even risk that. Dehydration is serious biz, especially after this surgery because it is such a challenge to get adequate Fluid when you are already hydrated let alone when you are so dehydrated that you are this sick. They would need to check your levels and put in an IV and push fluids into you. Are you going to the bathroom at all?
Nelly1828 17 Posted June 29, 2013 Maybe once a day, and it is dark. Gosh I'm scared out of my mind...

LI Gemini NY 607 Posted June 29, 2013 You need to go to the ER immediately, forget about the flight. If you're nauseous now, just imagine how you'd feel on a plane! Plus if you're dehydrated now...this weekend Dallas will be in the triple digit temperature (106 degrees). Sounds dangerous. 2 courtoomp and skrubabilen reacted to this
