I feel like all I do is take pills, Vitamins, Calcium I have to stagger them all day :( I'm breaking them in half instead of crushing because it tastes gross ! Hopefully when I lose weight I can come off some of them.

Are you just talking about Vitamins and supplements? I was told I would need to take them the rest of my life.

I too have pills that I have to take - 2 types of anti depressants and a thyroid pill - also 2 Prilosec, just so I can eat - from what i've been reading - acid reflux will not be getting better after this surgery. Of course no one would want me to quit the antidepressants - that would be ugly. I have a chewable multi - Vitamin that isn't the greatest + the Calcium and B-12 I need to schedule in my day - then of course the liquid and Protein - oh well, we will all just have to figure it out

ok here is what I am taking on the non prescription supplement side: a Multi-Vitamin specifically for bariatrics (chewable, twice a day), B12 sublingual (every other day), and I am supposed to be taking Calcium every day but ran out of the samples my NUT gave me and can't find them in the drug store (I need to go to GNC tomorrow)...I am curious to compare that with what others are taking...also, I am curious about what type of calcium you are taking...my NUT told me to take calcium citrate (which is not the same as "regular" calcium supplements, which are called calcium carbonate I think)...she gave me some that are like square chewies that remind me of those Kraft caramels...I think she said for me to take 3 throughout the day...and then she said that I could take them with the multi Vitamin because the Multivitamin she has me taking doesn't have Iron in it (the brand is Celebrate)...does all of this sound right to y'all? Is it similar to what your NUT or surgeon has recommended for you?

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
