An anyone else eat tons of watermelon ? I seem to be able to eat lots of it and it goes down easily ... Is this bad - can I gain weight from it ?

I haven't gotten that far yet, but I know the dietician said I could have melons or peeled fruit once I got to that stage, so don't think it is TOO bad.

I'm two years out and I can eat over a cup of watermelon, but not a lot more. It doesn't slide right down like popcorn and sweet baked items.

I've been eating watermelon for awhile now.... No problems so far. My doctor said it's okay because it helps keep me hydrated.... It's considered a full liquid , which I found kinda strange.

My doc said it was a full liquid. I eat it too...well I chew it up, drink the juice, and spit out the tiny bit of watermelon particle that's left. Goes down great and it REALLY helps get my liquid down. I'm only 12 days post-op.

What stage is watermelon in? Liquid or puréed? My doctor has his patients at each stage for a month at a time. I'm hoping it will be ok in the liquid stage if I put in my vitamix. I just got my approval for surgery, now waiting for the doctor's office to call with my date.

I eat watermelon every day. I have it cut up into 1 inch squares. I seem to crave it when I'm thirsty.

I have no problems with it. I'm 4 weeks out

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
