Corky6984 134 Posted June 28, 2013 I haven't gotten that far yet, but I know the dietician said I could have melons or peeled fruit once I got to that stage, so don't think it is TOO bad.

lsereno 2,525 Posted June 29, 2013 I'm two years out and I can eat over a cup of watermelon, but not a lot more. It doesn't slide right down like popcorn and sweet baked items. Lynda 1 Rox reacted to this

buckeye_girl40 203 Posted June 29, 2013 I've been eating watermelon for awhile now.... No problems so far. My doctor said it's okay because it helps keep me hydrated.... It's considered a full liquid , which I found kinda strange. Sent from my iPhone using VST

NewSetOfCurves 1,553 Posted June 29, 2013 My doc said it was a full liquid. I eat it too...well I chew it up, drink the juice, and spit out the tiny bit of watermelon particle that's left. Goes down great and it REALLY helps get my liquid down. I'm only 12 days post-op.

buckeyefan1985 29 Posted June 29, 2013 What stage is watermelon in? Liquid or puréed? My doctor has his patients at each stage for a month at a time. I'm hoping it will be ok in the liquid stage if I put in my vitamix. I just got my approval for surgery, now waiting for the doctor's office to call with my date.
