4wks today! Anybody eating

Recommended Posts

Is my dr that conservative or what? I will still be on liquids at 4 weeks. He requires 4 wks of liquids, then 1 of mushy then regular. I think I just may starve for 4 weeks...

I could have crackers @ 4 weeks. I stuck to 6 crackers with some tuna over having bread. I had tried the deli thin flat style rolls & it felt like small sponges expanding in my stomach, even after being toasted. The crackers felt ok. I make a point of not having them too often though.

I was able to have canned tuna and crackers in week 4. I've had tuna salad on crackers 3-4 times this past week and only had an issue once when I think I ate too quickly. Today (week 5) I get to add thin sliced deli meat, soft Beans, avocado and melons.

Crackers? W/ tuna? Feta? Anything? I've gotten mixed reviews on this

Week 5 & have been eating tuna, egg salad, chicken salad & hummus with Keebler Baked Pita Crackers for a couple of weeks. Did the cracker test first (if dissolves in glass of Water in 30 minutes) & had no problems.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
