dgryan74 0 Posted June 28, 2013 What did your doctors tell about drinking carbonated drinks?
Arts137 1,811 Posted June 28, 2013 Not to, ever. The carbonation is (apparently) bad for the sleeve. I have transitioned to Water, lemonade, etc. I am not perfect. I do drink coffee. Not much and mostly Decaf.< /p> 1 NtvTxn reacted to this
dma2013 99 Posted June 28, 2013 Never to drink it, it is a life long change. 1 NtvTxn reacted to this
JoiaRox 430 Posted June 28, 2013 No carbonation until 30 days post-op...and then only if I want to/am comfortable with it. Caffeine, on the other hand, is just fine - been drinking coffee since my first week post-op.
dork 114 Posted June 28, 2013 I was told carbonation will expand your stomach. It's bad for you anyway.

Not much and mostly Decaf.< /p> While my surgeon did say absolutely no carbonated drinks he doesn't hold that opinion of caffeine. When I told him I had also given up caffeine he said I didn't have to. He said caffeine is perfectly fine.

cejiogu 182 Posted June 28, 2013 I found a Water with caffeine in it! It's called avitae. You can get it with 45 or 90 mg in it. I got a good deal ob it from Office Depot it's about 1 dollar a bottle. I work overnight so I couldn't give up caffeine. But I do miss my diet coke!

SerendipityHappens 1,594 Posted June 29, 2013 My instructions were no carbonation for the first six weeks and then after that diet sodas were fine as long as they felt comfortable in the sleeve.
