Pfff.. I'm 6 months out and only about 40 down. Slow but sure! Hang in there!

30 lbs in two months is excellent! Hang in there - I know that none of us are particularly patient about wanting this off NOW, but we also want to be healthy at the end of it, right? You're losing at a nice pace, keep it up!

Hi, looked at your profile and I'm from Belleville. Hey, 30 lbs in 2 months is great! When have you ever lost that much in 2 months before? As long as you're losing, you're doing great! Besides, if you lose the weight slower, your skin has more time to shrink with you and won't be as saggy! You have to find the positives in every situation. Keep up the good work!

I'm about the same. It is depressing, but then again it averages 3-4 pounds a week so that's not too shabby. Just keep it up and you'll get there. Don't jump to the bypass right away. There's no guarantee that you'd lose more or faster with it.

There is no expiration date for your sleeve to stop working, I'm now 9 months out and down about 93 lbs., I have no doubt that I will eventually get to goal. Yes I get hungry, and I'm trying to stick to the Protein first plan, and have my sleeve help me like the tool it's intended to be. Be patient with yourself and have faith that you cn do this!!

I keep telling my husband that I am not going to wake up from this surgery thin. I'm not even going to wake up thin a month from surgery. I think we all have to keep in mind that the sleeve is a tool - not a miracle

Try this:

"I'm two months out and have lost 30 pounds! Amazing! I am in this for the long haul, and 15 pounds a month will equal 189 pounds in a year!!!"

I concur with Rox.

My Bariatric Doc reminded me yesterday at my follow up to not focus on quick weight loss. Two to three pounds a week. No calorie counting just lean Protein, veggies, fruit and Water. Walk 30 mins 3-4 times a week. It's a tool not the cure. It's a tool AND a lifestyle change period!

As everyone has said - reality check girl! I'd have been lucky to lose a pound a week (consistently) pre-sleeve and I would have really suffered for it.

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

Had a sleeve in 2017, lost over 100 pounds. Had a DS surgery this year (2025) for more sustainable weight loss. 🤞

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
