Finally.. Ive been waiting for this to happen.. ive read others who have hit there..and thought.. wow.. must be nice.. cant wait for me to get there.. then boom..another surgery unrelated to the sleeve.. knocked me down for 3 weeks. but hey the good news is no cancer.. masses gone..legs are healing.. and during that time.. rotten stall.. but then I wasnt really doing anything.. put my weight loss back 3 weeks.. sucked big time.. but ive slowed down on that anyways.. but thats ok.. I figure.... Im only 6mo out and im down 98lbs.. life is good.. cant believe it really..still having a hard time with that.. still see the old me in the mirror.. but others see the new me... my mind is playing tricks on me lol. I think if it was not for the most wonderful support system I have at home with my fantastic husband who also had the sleeve done a week after me.. he has lost like 102lbs..and looks like a stick.. he is at 188lbs..and happy with that and he too is 6mo out... He keeps me on the straight and narrow.. but in a loving way.. we support each other in this journey.. my doc is fantastic..and so is his nurse.. we work very hard and no way are we going to mess this up.. new doors have opened up for us.. no more seat belt extensions.. we can sit in a booth with lots of room... smaller clothes.. and wow.. I like to shop for clothes now lol.. Im in trouble there.. but for those of you just starting out.. so many wonderful things are about to happen to you... I would do this again in a heartbeat.. love this site... ive learned so much from everyone.. Im healthy happy... and on the go here and there... hang in there newbies.. it does get better.. but for me and my hubby.. we have had an easy go of this... we didnt get sick..no throwing up.. no issues at all.. piece of cake for us..so best of luck to eveyone on their own personal journey.. Dont let anyone or anything get you down.. work hard at this.. the doctor is giving you a wonderful tool.. its up to each and everyone of us to do the right thing with that tool... I chose to do the right thing... and it payed off big time.. good luck all :)

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
