Corky6984 134 Posted October 5, 2013 You can drink in the first couple of days, just small sips. The only advice I will give is don't be lying down while drinking. Did that in hospital and threw up, but it is because of the way the stomach is shaped now and all, not because I had an issue. I had no issues with my sleeve at all. I am almost 4 months post-op and I love it. I am at the point where I can eat anything I want, obviously smaller portions. I haven't found anything that doesn't like me, but everyone is different. I'm sure you will do fine and don't let these stories scare ya! Sent from my iPhone using VST

the-Russ 91 Posted October 18, 2013 It has been a week of serious contemplation. I'm going to the hospital. I'm nervous and second guessing everything, but I'm going.

the-Russ 91 Posted October 19, 2013 I'm done. Yesterday, Surgery day, was rough, but I made it through it. The hardest part was trying to drink Water and I couldn't figure out why I couldn't keep it down turns out it was nausea, but I didn't feel like I was going to throw up. This morning around 6 AM I asked for nausea medicine and have been a successful drinker since then, 1/2oz at a time. I drank 20 oz in 2.5 hrs. The gas pains are intense and my fat stomach looks bloated. I told my wife she could rub it and it would bring her good luck. She would not. Dr sent a piece of my liver to get a biopsy. He told my wife I had fatty liver disease. I don't know what that is, but when he comes to release me today I will ask.
Chellemetime 299 Posted October 19, 2013 I'm so happy for you!! Just remember, the first part of this journey is the hardest. After that it's all uphill. For me, it was the best thing I ever did for myself and I hope you end up feeling the same! Right now concentrate on fluids and walk walk walk. It helps get rid of the gas and swelling. Good luck on your new journey!! Sent from my iPhone using VST
Corky6984 134 Posted October 19, 2013 Yay!!! So glad to head! I got nauseated one day, but I was half asleep, woke up because my mouth was so dry, so I went to get a sip of Water and threw up because I was lying down. Learned to sit up while drinking since then! Hope your liver results come back fine and here's to a speedy recovery!!! Sent from my iPhone using VST
