I mailed my passport renewal form on June 19th. I still haven't gotten my card yet. I've got 3 more weeks till I leave, but I'm starting to worry. How long did it take y'all to get yours?

I used to work for the passport agency and this is one of their busiest times. Sometimes takes up to 6 weeks for all to get scanned, approved, printed, then mailed out. Also throw in 4th of July holiday in there. If you didn't expedite it, it will take the normal time. You can check the status of your passport here:

That is what I thought! I still want to get a passport for traveling purposes not just for this but if I didn't expedite it & even then it may not be here for August 12th & I don't want to push it back to December since that's when I will have a break from school!

I was told my drivers license and my birth certificate were good enough... That's what I will be going with.

I just checked the web site, it says I should be getting my passport card on or by 7/17/13, Yeah!!! but good to know if anything happens I'll be OK with just my driver's license and birth certificate. Had I known that before, I could have saved myself $46, for the passport card, picture and registered mail postage  (that could have been a new pair of jeans B)

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
