Would love to taste some chineese food again, but I do NOT plan on trying that one for a long while. there is so much different seasonings used and alot of MSG. so for me it would be a huge NONO...plus you would only be able to have like I piece of meat and some veggies so unless you made it at home not worth the money

Hi all. You might try your beloved Chinese food again at a later date. Seems some people have a problem with one kind of food or another in the first few months but at a later time are able to tolerate better. Just a thought.

What exactly are you trying to eat? Rice & Noodles aren't going to go down for a while, and even then you won't be able to eat much.

I love me some Egg Drop Soup even now... it is chinese food ;)

Well, I know it's debatable if Panda Express is "real chinese" food as some say, but if you have one in your area, let me tell you....I treat myself to the steamed rice, mixed veggies, Teriyaki chicken (soooo tender & good), & orange chicken. I have no issues. My surg was 3/6/13. I chew well & take my time. I eat it for like three meals. try it again in even smaller quantities & maybe try another place. What I live by is that I WILL have anything in moderation. I want to enjoy life & food like I used to BUT, BUT, BUT....not abuse it like I used to. I do shy away from fried foods, but eventually, I will def try fried chicken, lol!

I've only had Chinese once since surgery. I got sick and vomited shortly after, so I haven't tried it again. I do sometimes buy frozen Chinese egg rolls and microwave them. I only eat the filling. It's pretty high in Protein and low in calories and it satisfies my Chinese cravings.

I'm thinking that when I get a few months out I'll dive into mu shu pork or chicken without the pancakes. It sounds good right now, in fact, but I'm midway through my preop diet and starving today for some reason.

I haven't tried (real) Chinese rice for thinking that I could be too greasy? I have done Panda Express serval times meat only.

I have not tried Chinese food since my surgery on 4/9/13. For me its not a big deal as I have never really been a big fan of it. My husband however LOVES Chinese food so we made an agreement that as long as I lost 60 pounds (random number I made up) we could try it 6 months after my surgery. It's good to know that other people have tried it and tolerated it well :)

Try making homemade stir fry sans rice or noodles. It allows you more flexibility and ends up being healthier.
