I had my endoscopy/colonoscopy today. The Dr found "red spots" on my stomach lining. Turns out they are precursors to stress induced ulcers. Well duh! I have a 3 year old with autism, a husband who is in constant pain everyday of his life but can't get disability cuz the Dr can't find the cause of the pain, I have both ovaries "full" of very painful cysts, I just lost my job and can't even afford my psych eval. There is literally 50 dollars standing between me and my surgery!! All of this is just piling up on me and makes me feel like I'm suffocating. I'm losing so much sleep and I don't know how much more I can take before they are going to have to put me in the nut house! :'(

Sorry u r going through this. I was in the simular boat as far as stress of the financial part. I was $1100.00 short. I prayed and prayed and finally got my prayer answered 4 days before my scheduled surgery. I was to the point of losing about 1/3ofy hair!!! You need to concentrate on you ans try to relax. If you are only short $50.00, maybe you could make special arrangements with the doctors office. I will personal message you with some othe ideas that may help. Stay strong, pray & have faith sister! {{{Hugs}}} BTW, iam 3 days post-op & had no complications. Easiest surgery I've ever had. I've had a

c-section in 2007 & a breast reduction in 2000. You got this!!!

It will happen for you when it is meant to be. This is hard to hear, but I truly believe there is a reason for everything. Keep your head up, because when it is supposed to happen things will line up. I will pray for you and your whole family. I am truly sorry that everything is so overwhelming right now. Try to see the silver lining...stay positive! :)

I can send something, too. I know what it's like to be in that place where $50 seems like it might as well be a million for how broke you are. Let me know your address and I'll send something Monday! :)

You people are awesome, I'm so glad people are willing to help her out. I donated via PayPal, it was very simple. I know more people can sacrifice a cup of Starbucks or pack of cigs to help someone live a healthy life. Come on folks.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
