mypov 0 Posted December 30, 2006 Hello everyone! I'm 12 days post op now and have another question. Since my prebanding official starting weight of 287 untill now, I have lost 17 lbs. I've since moved into pureed foods and think I've been doing fairly well at making sure I have lotsa Protein, tons of Water etc etc. My weight loss has stalled though and I was wondering- will it pick up again soon or will I not start losing again until my first fill? I feel some restriction now; though I can tell I'm losing that a little bit day by day. Still having less than 1000 calories a day though. Anyone who hit a plateau after losing that initial "water weight" how long did it take before you started losing again? Thanks!!
laurigee 545 Posted December 30, 2006 Mypov I Lost The Most Weight Right Before Surgery. I Have Had 2 Fills Now And Still Have Only Lost About A Pound A Week. I Think Everyone Is Different. I See Alot Of People With My Same Surgery Date That Have Lost Alot More Than Me. I Haven't Really Did Alot Of Exercising Lately So I'm Sure That Has Alot To Do With It. Hang In There. At Least The scales Are Going In The Right Direction. Good Luck.
She Smiles 2 Posted December 30, 2006 I've lost less than 1 pound since my first fill on the 18th December. The rest of my weight I lost either before when I was on Optifast or just after my surgery when I was on liquids. I lost maybe 2 pounds when I first went onto pureed foods. I go for an intense walk for half an hour 5 or 6 days a week and I think I am making fairly good food choices. I am going to try to get in for another fill in January when my surgeon gets back from his Xmas holidays. I'm feeling like its a uphill battle right now, I just want to crack the "under 100kgs" (220 pounds) and I just can't!!! :cry
losingjusme 12 Posted December 30, 2006 this is your time to heal - not worry about losing weight - really!! you are doing a great job. after your first fill it may be easier then better with each fill until you hit your sweet spot.
mousecrazy 2 Posted December 31, 2006 Please keep in mind this is not a steady, smooth journey. There are rest-stops (plateaus), speed bumps, curves, and detours. Right now, you are on a vacation. Weight loss is not even a factor for this part of your journey. You are healing, and that is your focus. You want that band healed in perfectly, and ready to work for you for years to come. Nothing about this will be instant. This is you and the band, working together, to change your habits, your thoughts, your life. Keep coming here for support and advice! melLybelLyband 0 Posted December 31, 2006 Thanks for the advice mousecrazy. I am just 3 days out and wondering what the heck have I done! Gas is a problem and just drinking Water is not going so great right now. I just had my first Protein Drink and it did fit and maybe even made me feel better. Still, I wonder what the heck have I done! It looks like you have done well so I am inspired for now. Thanks, Mel

mypov 0 Posted January 1, 2007 Thanks everybody. I'm really going to try not to worry about it and just focus on healing but seeing that scale move down after several years of it going UP I just wanted it to continue ya know? Thanks for all your support!
mousecrazy 2 Posted January 1, 2007 It WILL. Have faith. You have made a decision to improve your health, and it will work. I know you worry, but you can relax a little, okay? Take CARE OF YOURSELF!!!! You have 3 children and that is keeping you pretty busy. You must have had them in mind when you decided to get healthy...I know my DD was a big factor in my decision. I wanted to dance with her! I can now! You're in for a treat...but it takes patience. You can do it! Cindy
