NewAshes 232 Posted June 27, 2013 What happens if you aren't cleared for the psyc test? Do they have you come in and talk about it? Give you a second chance or can you try again eventually or is that it? I'm still waiting to hear back about mine but just want to know
southernsoul 773 Posted June 27, 2013 Vixey, I think a lot depends on the psychologist & the surgeon, as well as exactly why the person was not cleared. There are some reasons that might be able to be worked out in a pretty short time frame, but there are other issues that could be far more serious. My guess is that if you are not cleared the psych will give you a full explanation as to why & you can then see what the options are. I wouldn't worry about it, though. I think the number of folks who don't clear the psych eval are pretty low. Good luck to you!

DeniseM 238 Posted June 27, 2013 I got called in after my psych eval and I thought I had failed, but what they wanted was for me to have three individual counseling sessions, one before my surgery, and two after. So I was cleared for surgery after my first session, and I still need two more sessions, which I am fine with.

NewAshes 232 Posted June 27, 2013 I'm not at all worried about my therapist. She told me to give him her number and supports this choice and is proud of how well I have come (was being taken advantage of by my guardian) but since I'm out on my own I've come a long way..I just worry about my history and I have horrible social and general anxiety and while I'm close with my family and boyfriend I have no friends out side the Internet.
