New sleeve-female cylce weight? :/

Recommended Posts

I ALWAYS gain 5-8lbs during my monthly cycle and then loose it. I know it's coming and even though I was sleeved on the 6/17th I figured weight loss would slow...not that I would gain at all!! I gained .8 lbs from yesterday!!! How do I stop this before it makes me crazy!!! I know it wasn't even a a whole pound but it was enough to scare the crap out of me. :(

Here's what you do... You take your scale, and you hide it deep within a closet for 10 days (atleast).

It's Water weight girl...not fat. It will flush out just like it always does. Just don't go bazerk on chocolate and ice cream and you will be just fine. Why would your body's fluctuations with weight change just because you got sleeved? But again...it's Water weight and absolutely normal. ;)

Thank you...I guess I just needed to hear it from someone else. I go in to be weighed and get my staples out tomorrow. I need this to work. It HAS to work! Not only for myself.....but also for my father! If I can work my sleeve right and keep my head in the game, my dad will also have the surgery! :) So whatever it takes I HAVE TO ROCK THIS SLEEVE!

Yup...throw that scale far far away! You just got sleeved....shouldn't be weighing in already anyways. As for the Tom gain, happens to me as well. You know that it does, so this shouldn't bother you at all! During my losing phase I would look forward to my Tom, because although I would gain about 4-6 pounds right before it....as soon as it was over I would start dropping pounds like crazy for the next week and a half. My biggest loss after my Tom was 12 pounds in one week!! And that is not including the Water weight btw. Stop fretting...lol good luck :)

Yep, like clockwork, I gained at least three pounds during my cycle every single month. In fact, my personal weight loss pattern for every month, even the first one, was to remain at the same weight for about the first three weeks of the month. I'd bump up for my cycle, and in the last week to ten days of the month I'd shed all my weight for the month all at once.

Put the scale away or you'll make yourself nuts. Your body is going to do what it wants and you can't help that.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
