One way to make things special...

Not sure if any of you have done this...

I'm really fond of having a dinner setting 'set' for myself; whether I'm eating alone or the whole family. Now that my portions are going to be so tiny, and liquid for a while after my band (1/30), I have been searching for a very special 'place setting' for myself. I'm not looking at Lenox or anything, but just something that will help make my 'dinner' look beautiful in a gorgeous glass, or mug or even bowl.

Any little pick me up like that; I think goes a long way.

I do that sometimes too, I like eating out of very pretty dishware. It makes plain ole tuna on a bed of lettuce looks really:hungry:

Exactly my point!! Also, I'm going to make the change to salad plates for myself (not my family). Smaller plates make my portions look bigger.

I also read that cocktail forks are a great 'training' tool for making smaller bites easier and more accurate. Otherwise, I'll just continue to shovel!! lol

Thats funny that you brought up the cocktail dinnerware because I just bought some! I think it will be easier to break up food into small bites. I never thought about the nice dinnerware....I try novelty dinner ware. It's a great thought. Thanks for the idea

I have a wonderful mother and she made my plate look like they do at one of those fancy french plates, the portion are so small and thet are made fun of on television, but actually they are the perfect poertions for us at this point. Really mother says it is all in the show, not the amount.

Still nothing has caught my eye. I'm sure I'll find something 'pretty and special'. Want to make all my mushies look like the works of Emeril himself! lol
