I'm still saving as much as I possibly can. I'm about $1,200 away from having it all! I can't wait! I haven't scheduled a date yet because I'm afraid I won't have all the money by the day I pick. :(

I've changed my mind so many times its ridiculous. I thought that I was for certain going to go to Dr. Aceves, but I just can't afford that right now in my budget. I'm about to have to get a new vehicle and I need as much money as I can at this point. So, I've decided on Dr. Fernando Garcia. After annoying him and alma for months with my questions, I'm just going to try and push all of my anxieties to the side and go with it! I'm scared out of my mind, but I know this needs to be done in order for me to get my health and life back on track. I'm more than likely going to go in August or September. Just whenever I get the $1,200 and I'm gone! :)

I was going to choose Aceves at first but really needed to save my money so I went with Dr. Garcia at Florence Hospital. I was sleeved last Tuesday and so far I'm feeling great!

I have been keeping up with all of your stories, and that's what's reassuring me that I'm making a good choice. I know that you were worried like me, Olivia. I take your word on it when you say that things were fine. :)

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
