If its cut in squares I can eat one. 2 if they are the smaller inside ones.

I'm 8 months out and couldn't contemplate having one bite... I just 'know' it wouldn't be good...

1 slice or about 1/10 of a PH medium I probably could eat more but I don't 1 is more than enough to snuff out the craving :) I am 7.5 months out.

In talking thin crust pepperoni ... Just interested the norm people can handle with the new Belly :)

I'm only four weeks out. pizza used to be one of my favorite foods and there was a time in my past that I could eat half of a large one. Today I see myself passing over the pizza for a better Protein source.

Can someone pass me a box of tissues?

I can eat anything without issue at this point and I'm 3 months out. I've had pizza once and I had one slice and put the rest away right away. I could have eaten more. I'm trying to think like Jada Pinkett...I read an article somewhere that she doesn't eat for fun, or enjoyment. It's for nourishment only. I don't think I'll ever be that way...but like what was said above, I do look at things for it's value in Protein more than anything else.

So far, my body has stopped me from eating certain things. I don't reject anything, so it's really mind over matter for me.

Thin Slice. Veggie. Two slices minus the crust at the ends. I was surprised that I could eat two, but I know it's cause they are thin sliced. :-) Not about perfection but everything in moderation---that's my motto...well, one of them at least, lol!

I ate two slices of a large hand-tossed from pizza Hut, not the ends. That was a few months ago. I don't eat pizza often. I'm more than 2 years out.

If it's from a large pizza, one slice without the top crust, but it might depend on the toppings- this is based on a sausage piece. 1 piece from a small cheese pizza like today, the whole thing. Edited to add that these are 2 of the 3 times I have had pizza since surgery six months ago. In general I avoid it.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
