Body cramping ad soreness

Recommended Posts

Hello all,

I am currently 13days post-op I had been felling great right after surgery and actually up until Sunday. I came back to work yesterday and my body was in shock, I had a mild headache and when I got home I put my feet up and I realized how sore my thighs and calfs were. Then I went to lay down to go to bed and my feet started cramping up. Is anyone else having this issue?

Please share....

Me too, me too! I'm really achy & I got my 1st headache yesterday! My hubby says it's dehydration & the lack of Protein....My surgeon is on vacation this week but, if it gets to the point that I can't handle it, I will go to the ER!

I hope you feel better soon!

I was thinking the issue was maybe more lack of Protein, I actually cheated and had me a poched egg white for Breakfast yesterday and today and I can tell the difference today. I do feel a little better far as the cramping. Tryinf to make sure that I'm getting in my fluids with the Isopure no sugar no carb drink to kinda help me out. I know it's still not much but it's something.

I called my NUT and she told me

- Fluids

- Protein

- Vitamins

To make sure to try and get them in that way because I get sick off the protien shakes and the chicken noodle flavor protein. OMG my stomach can't take it. I start the pureed phase tomorrow and I CAN NOT WAIT.....

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
