First family vaca where...

Recommended Posts

We just returned from a two week road trip to a family reunion in California. All of the family we saw have never seen me at this weight. The last time they saw me I was pushing 350 lbs. At the reunion I was 190 lbs and participated in every activity and most importantly, was in every picture taken. I am getting the pics printed off today and I am so proud of the way I look and how my mind, attitude and body have been completely transformed by this surgery! Don't put it off another minute!

Here is my family and myself at the incredibly windy Point Lobos State Reserve in Carmel, CA.

Wonderful pic & so nice to see you rebuilding memories with being in the family pics....like I hope to!! I had my oldest son take a pic of me last month because there are NO pics of me & if something should happen, my kids should really have a pic of me. I hope to have many taken "after".

I'm so glad you had a wonderful time participating in your family reunion! I can only imagine how excited everyone was to see the new you!! Thank you for sharing your beautiful pic! I just LOVE Carmel!!! It's picture perfect!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
