Mrs.RRn 2,111 Posted June 25, 2013 Today is officially the 1st day of week 3 postop. I am now allowed to switch from full liquids to a soft diet. But... I don't wanna!! (Whiny voice). I haven't lost any weight in week 2, so it makes me want to go back to Clear Liquids. Yeah, yeah, I won't actually do it. But did anyone else feel this way? Not wanting to advance their diet?... I can honestly say I haven't felt hunger yet. Even when my husband cooks something that smells good, as soon as I see solid food, I lose interest. Can anyone relate? Or am I just the crazy one not wanting food? ?
Heyher 581 Posted June 25, 2013 When I was three weeks out I did not want food at all. Nothing sounded good. But follow your docs plan. They have a method to their madness. As far as loss stalling or slowing, your body just went through A LOT!! It might need a little time to adjust. It will come off. 1 Mrs.RRn reacted to this
megansmommy123 57 Posted June 26, 2013 I felt this way too, and talked to the NUT about it. But she said it was very important to start eating, even just a little bit. For two reasons, first because it will establish a healthy pattern of eating 3 small meals a day. But also because your body NEEDS food, not just Protein Shakes. If you don't start getting some calories your body will "hold onto" the weight, and you wont lose as fast. You need some calories and fat each day. She said the small amount we eat in the beginning isn't enough to stop the weight loss, but that our bodies really need some calories with each meal. I just started soft foods this week, and have been eating egg drop Soup, turkey meatballs, cottage cheese, Tomato Soup, mashed potatoes, and yogurt. Even if its just a bite or two to start out slow. 1 Mrs.RRn reacted to this
