thenewsue 13 Posted June 25, 2013 Hi everyone I'm have my surgery next week July 2nd. I am nervous I'm gonna forget something I need. Can you all help me make a list for what I need to pack for hospital? I also wanna make sure I have everything I need in my kitchen. I have my magic bullet measuring spoons/cups,scale, strainer, sippy cup, clear Protein, stock, suger free jello., surger free ice pops, lowfat cream Soups and yogurt for 2nd week
GypsyQueen 198 Posted June 25, 2013 I brought a bunch of stuff I didn't need, but everybody has such a different experience in the hospital and how they feel. My musts were... Stretchy waist pants/shorts to wear in the hospital as well as to wear home. My favorite pillow Toiletries and brush/blow dryer. (The first shower is wonderful!) Hand lotion For home, I bought a lot of stuff I never used. But it is best to be prepared! Best of luck!
melegge 17 Posted June 25, 2013 For the hospital I am packing some comfy clothes to wear home, my own pajamas, my toiletries, my medications, slippers and my sleeve book. I just went to Target today and picked up chewable vitamins and dissolvable B12, Vitamin Water calorie free, chicken and beef broth, sugar free Jello, liquid Tylenol. I plan to go out and get my foods for week 2/3 my hubby will bring me to town and I will need/want to get out of the house. I do have yogurts and Soups to strain. I also have my premade Protein Drinks the muscle milk light and my pure Protein Powder as I start a Protein Shake per day on day #3. I already have a magic bullet that I use daily to make my shakes and measuring spoons/cups and a food scale, so I think I am set there. I am scheduled for July 1st at 730am!! 1 Vixynne reacted to this
Vixynne 695 Posted June 25, 2013 Some folks around the forums have recommended having a lip balm in the hospital, since you may have dry lips on the day of surgery (IV liquids only, usually nothing--or not much--by mouth). I've seen recommendations for eye masks and earplugs to help you sleep better in the hospital, too. This thread mentions other ideas that people on the forums put together to help pre-op'ers set up their hospital bags: http://www.verticalsleevetalk.com/topic/10081-the-official-what-you-will-need-for-your-gastric-sleeve-surgery-thread/page__st__200__hl__+packing%20+for%20+hospital%20+list#entry746289 1 GypsyQueen reacted to this

Phoenix79 452 Posted June 27, 2013 I'm definitely bringing lip balm, hand lotion, my purple robe to hang off my shoulders as I walk the halls, as well as my hobbit feet slippers (complete with hairy tops). Gotta get folks to smile...might as well have some fun! Surgery July 2nd in Seattle.
ninanew 22 Posted June 27, 2013 I was so glad to have my u-shaped neck pillow. Made sleeping and everything so much more comfortable in a semi-reclined hospital bed. 1 Carol33 reacted to this

NWWLS would actually be closer for me since I live in Lake Stevens but my insurance covers Swedish almost 100%! Plus I really like their program and my husband was sleeved there too. Good luck to all of us on the 2nd! We're almost there!
