For exercise, I walk at least 2 miles 5 days/week. 3 times a week I add hip hop abs, rocking body or WII games and this week I've started weight training x 2 days...

I work out 3-4 times a week and have fallen in love with kettlebells. Can't wait to see the further positive results, once I have surgery.

While Vitamins are imperative to the process, watch out for Bariatric Advantage! I was taking them regularly beginning 3 or 4 days post-op, then suddenly couldn't tolerate them about 12 days out - literally vomited within moments of chewing them. Upon googlin' the issue, it seems that many have been unable to tolerate them. No idea why I was fine with them, nor what caused the switch, but I've made the switch to opurity chewables and am fine now!

I get discouraged alot too. Im 10 weeks out an have lost 38 lbs. I really thought it would be a little faster, Im following the rules about 90 percent of the time. Im alot better off than before before though.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
