karpouzian 94 Posted June 24, 2013 My last a1c was a 9, so it doesn't look promising
Ms skinniness 3,003 Posted June 24, 2013 I have Kaiser and they told me my A1C needed to be under 6.0. Well, my A1c was about 7 and they approved the surgery anyways. So don't give up hope. Try doing a high Protein diet. A friend of mine had really high A1C and he had basically ate Soup all month long and his A1C went down really quick. He would make vegetable soup. So please do what you can and work on not eating carbs if at all possible.

I will appeal it with the surgeon if it is too high, insurance has already cleared me.
