Very disappointed. Today I had my EKG and apparently there was a change from the one in March. I am worried about my heart. Don't know what happened to cause the change. I'm not showing any signs or symptoms for what ever the doctor saw. But to top it all off, my surgery has been canceled for Monday 8/5 till some time in mid September (hopefully). I have to take a stress test. Yes I'm upset about the surgery but more concerned about my heart. So I am officially no longer a August sleever :'(

It's ok and don't be discouraged, the same thing happen to me and I did the stress test and everything was fine! It's just another loop hole but you will be through it soon. I am 2days in pre op diet and just starting to have a hard time mentally, trying to stay positive and focused on my end result. You will do fine!

I'm so sorry! Everything happens for a reason. Stay positive! Complete the required tests and pray. Your health is more important than a surgery date. Check out the September sleevers thread and continue to keep in touch with us. ;-) Good luck!!!

Sorry to hear this determined. Keep your chin up, it's better to be safe than sorry. Let the Dr's do what's best for you. I'm sure it will happen, they just have to check out your stress test. Stay positive and I hope you still hang out with us :)

Had my last pre-op hoop to jump through today...hope to get my surgery date when I meet with the surgeon's PA on Tuesday. I think it would be unusual not to swing to polar opposites emotionally as we approach our respective dates.

This is a pretty radical choice we've made afterall, isn't it? :)

We can do this...we see success stories on this wonderful forum everyday. We also see the hardships we are about to encounter, and we see people rise above and keep moving forward. These are the things that empower us, and give us the inspiration and the courage to do something so very radical. I think this is the reason most of us are on this site in the first place...folks reaching out to one another in support and friendship.

We can do this. <3

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
