Funny thing is' date=' prior to surgery I never liked ice or anything too cold for that matter. I always went with room temp liquids. However, now ice has become one of my favorites. I am in love with the sugar free tropical flavored popsicle. Yum. Feel better!

OMG' date=' i just ate a grape!! I totally forgot for that 1 second. I'm still on the liquid diet for another week.[/quote']

I forgot I can't "gulp" Water and on Sunday while running errands I had forgot my handy candy cup that doesn't allow gulping so I got a bottle of Water at the gas station and took two giant drinks and the pain didn't hit until the second was on its way down. Needless to say I switched back to my cup after that.

Well, I'm more worried about not being able to eat the grape since I'm not supposed to eat any solids for another 4 weeks. I don't want to have eruption of the staples :/

I had the runs 3x a day for the first 2wks. Then Constipation for 10day after being switched to stage 3. Now I am pretty regular.

I did the same thing last night. I was distracted while taking my reflux meds and took a big gulp of water. It hurt as it went down but only for a few seconds. Then there was a lump, like a marble, in my throat. It's just below my breast bone and I feel it mostly when swallowing. It doesn't hurt and I have no trouble swallowing liquids. It is very uncomfortable. I've tried gas-x, warm broth and walking. Nothing is helping. It's been 14 hours now. I'm getting a bit worried. I hope I didn't mess something up. I wonder if I should go to the ER or maybe call my Dr. Any suggestions or similar experiences?

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
