Syntrax Nectar so far...

Recommended Posts

So far, Roadside Lemonade, and Cherry are AWESOME as add-ins for SF Jello jigglers.

caribbean cooler is NOT a yummy popsicle :( (Though I'll probably eat the 3 1/2 I have left).

Crystal Sky isn't so yummy as a normal shake.< /p>

Hrm... I wonder if I add a little davinci's Syrup to the caribbean cooler popsicles... Nahh, I don't think that will help.

I just got my shipment of 11 samplers of nectar. When I had my lapband 3 1/2 yrs ago, I blindly ordered about $180 worth of Protein drinks from GNC.com. Hated them all. Especially the Isopures. Yuck. This time I decided to try a few before my July 16th surgery. The $15 ones from Walmart are ok, not great but ok. So if I don't like the Nectars (haven't tried them yet), I think I'll stick to the Walmart choc and strawberry ones. They're decent for 4 weeks worth of eating!

Looking forward to the Roadside Lemonade! Got cherry too!

Haven't been a huge fan of the Nectars, other than the Fuzzy Navel I sometimes have in the morning. Choking down the chocolate Truffle now. It could also be that I'm at the end of my two weeks on the Protein Shakes and am very sick of them! Can't wait to meet with my NUT on Tuesday to go onto the next phase!!

Actually, put the Jello powder in, then the boiling Water, stir 'till dissolved. That reduces the heat (because apparently Water over 140 degrees does funky stuff to protein), and then I whisk in the Protein powder.< /p>

I ordered a pack of samples on eBay and got one of each flavor. The chocolate truffle and double stuff cookie are both fantastic! I mixed them with soymilk. The Cappuccino was tolerable, but not terrific. I am still pre-op and didn't feel that any of them have given lasting fullness as a Meal Replacement. I am hopeful that will change after surgery. I also have tried the lemon tea and apple ecstasy mixed with Water and an evening "snack". The tea wasn't great, but the apple was ok. I def plan on buying a full size container of the chocolate truffle!

I'm pre-op and trying to lose both lose weight and get accustomed to not eating real food so I'm trying to do a pre-pre-op diet using Protein shakes as Meal Replacements. I ordered a sample pack of Syntrax nectar and I just tried the Lemon Tea and I was pleasantly surprised. I really expected it to be gross, but it was drinkable. I'm from the South and sweet tea is my downfall and one of my favorite things in the world so the thought of powedered tea instead of fresh brewed was weird to me to start with. I also don't like lemon in my tea, but I found this bearable. It was much better than I expected, to say the least.

I also ordered powders?utm_source=BariatricPal&utm_medium=Affiliate&utm_campaign=CommentLink" target="_ad" data-id="1" >unjury powder and I have to say the Syntrax mixes up about a thousand times better than the Unjury. With the Unjury, I'm getting a lot of wasted Protein because it all clumps at the top of my milk.

I'm a big fan of Syntrax--the Double Stuffed Cookie and vanilla Bean Torte are my two big favorites so far. When you blend the Unjury, are you using a spoon, or a blender-bottle, or a blender? I think the Syntrax dissoves really well, but if you want to avoid wasting your Unjury, maybe a blender or blender-bottle will help.

I've been using either a spoon or a Blender Bottle (with the metal blender ball in it) to mix the Unjury. Anything that requires the use of an electric blender is something I don't want to use.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
