I was just wondering how much salt I should be eating? I am REALLY holding Water in my ankles, even though my b/p is normal (actually kind of low). I really want my puffy feet gone! I know that salt intake, and heat can cause this. Or it could be something serious and I should just call my doctor! Iol. Has anyone ever used those hose? I call them ted hoses but I've heard them called something else, I just don't remember the name.

Anti-M stockings, Ted stockings, support stockings. Any of these will be enough for the pharmacist to get you what you need. be sure to either try them on or have him be confident of the right size. I will tell you they are horribly uncomfortable in the heat, mildly tolerable in the winter. but highly effective.

if your pressure is low then the salt may not work.

BTdubs-- loose the steeler shirt, RAVENS rule.

Just a warning -- it may not have anything to do with your salt/sodium intake or levels in your body but your hormones instead. I had problems with swelling pre-op that went away right after surgery. A good lot of my loss the week after surgery was Water related.

During the next three weeks out, I was losing inches but not weight on the scale. I couldn't figure out what was going on with my body and why I was retaining Water so much. I cut back on sodium intake and upped my water/fluids as much as I could. Come to find out, it was my hormones coming back into play after I had been on the Deprovera shot for so long. I have never had problems with the shot but apparently a big weight loss will cause you to have problems with it and your hormones.

As soon as my body got that figured out and realigned itself, the weight started coming off and so did the swelling/water retention in my ankles and legs.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
