babsvt 20 Posted June 23, 2013 It costs $ 47,000 dollars to have the VSG in Vermont and the maximum lifetime insurance benefit is only 10,000 dollars. The cost for all the pre op appointments and post op appointments plus appointments with the NUT, any testing (esphagus, upper GI endoscopy required) are all additional costs. Again I said Lifetime benefit of 10,000 dollars! I'm headed to Mexico and Dr. Kelly.
CocoCocoon 6 Posted June 23, 2013 Hi babst! I'm from Vermont (Middlebury/Burlington) but I had my surgery 6 weeks ago in India with a surgeon who worked in the States for many years. The difference is that I've been living here for almost two years due to my husband's job so it makes it all very simple. I paid about $6000 all inclusive, including follow ups. Very good experience all the way around! I actually preferred the surgeon here to one in Burlington. He has an excellent record and has done about 4000 weight loss surgeries. I've heard high-risk patients come to him from throughout the whole country. Good luck with everything and keep us informed.
