Nelly1828 17 Posted June 23, 2013 Hi guys I'm 8 days post op and I've been having a reaaaaaal hard time getting down liquids literally only 2 oz if even at that! I don't get hungry or crave anything that's the good thing. I read about people eating and I get terrified I don't want to even imagine! If liquids hurt going down what will food do! Anyway I lost 20 pounds pre op and as of today 21 post op. weird to be and overwhelming. I started off at 326 and today I weighed 285. I'm currently staying in Mexico for two months so that when I go back my family will be surprised. I want to leave at at least 230 buy I don't know if it's possible that's 55 pounds away. I was just assuming because of my fast weightloss it was possible . I'm 5'1 so even 280 is big for me. 230 I will be big but at least I won't look a slob Does anyone have suggestions on how to keep fluids down
Tv22120 19 Posted June 23, 2013 Try sucking on Popsicles and just sip all day. Your Protein Shakes count as liquid so don't forget that. Everyday will get easier
NewSetOfCurves 1,553 Posted June 23, 2013 I'm only 5 days post op and was REALLY struggling with getting the liquid intake, but eating the sugar free Popsicles was suggested to me, as well eating ice. That has made ALL the difference. Jello is easier to get down as well. I felt the same way about food. Even though I am on full liquids, my full liquids include yogurt, 1/4 cup scrambled eggs with cheese, 1/4 cup refried Beans, and 1/4 cup cream of wheat (each at different meals of course). Like I said, I too was super scared to try these, but I've tried the cream of wheat and the egg--WHAT A DIFFERENCE!!! I ate it very slowly...took me almost 45 minutes, but I ate them and they went down better than Water. I feel so much better, more like myself. My headache finally went away... Anyway, hope this helps and hope you feel better soon.
