karpouzian 94 Posted June 23, 2013 Well, I've tried a 'practice' liquid diet today... It went very well, and I was never starving. I had Protein Jello, some G3, some egg drop soup/broth, and I found out one thing. If I don't eat, I don't drink as much - this is something I DEFINITELY need to work on, as I know I'll need to stay hydrated post-surgery. Except for the bottle of G3, I didn't have any sugar/carbs except for the broth, and my blood sugar still didn't drop below 121 I'm doomed.
Pixie Dust 526 Posted June 23, 2013 From what I've heard, if you starve yourself of carbs, your sugar will spike as well. I don't know if it's true or not but that could be the case. Try not to freak out until you hear from a doctor what your outcome will be. It isn't helping your sugar level any being so stressed. Just take it as it comes...if you have to wait (but hopefully not) a short while to get your sugar under control. I really feel for you & wish you the best. By the way, I guess I never thought of it but if I wasn't eating, I probably wouldn't be drinking! Oh noooooo.......so it will be hard for me to get my Water in! I kept thinking that it would be a piece of proverbial cake (with no sugar/carbs/calories) but probably not! Thanks for stressing me out now! 3 TES, gourmetone and DonRodolfo reacted to this
TES 858 Posted June 23, 2013 Some walking might bring down your blood sugar. I worked with a woman who was diabetic and she would test her BS right after a workout and couldn't believe how it went down right after. 1 Pixie Dust reacted to this
